In order to produce doctors who are able to serve the community in accordance with the Indonesian Doctors Competency Standards (SKDI) (KKI, 2012), since 2007, the Bachelor Study Program of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (BSPM FMUB) has implemented a Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), as mandated by the National Standards for Professional Doctor Education (KKI, 2006). Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) is structured on the basis of “learning outcomes” using area organization and competency components from SKDI in the design, implementation, and assessment and evaluation of BSPM students.

Based on the academic guidebook for the Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor Profession Study Programs, assessment is defined as the process of measuring and assessing Competency achievements as a basis for making decisions on student learning performance. A good assessment aims to (1) determine the level of achievement of student learning objectives (summative), (2) Provide feedback or can be used as input for students to develop their learning abilities (formative), (3) Material for certification and competency assessment (generic clinical skills) (4) Increase student learning motivation to obtain better learning outcomes.

An assessment is needed to ensure that every BSPM FMUB graduate fulfills his learning goals and achieves the competencies set by the Indonesian Medical Council. Therefore, a valid, reliable, objective, and feasible assessment is needed for BSPM FMUB which describes a good and correct measurement and assessment process. The study progress test is one of the requirements for students to graduate as written in the Academic Guidelines. The results of the Progress Test become a source of material for curriculum evaluation as well as information on the achievement of longitudinal competencies from students.

The Progress Test for the 2022/2023 Academic Year for the odd semester will be held online on January 16 2023 considering the COVID-19 condition which has not yet ended. The progress test was attended by all semester 1, 3, 5 and 7 students through the Moodle program which can be accessed from their respective homes consisting of 150 questions.

It is hoped that the implementation of this progress test can evaluate student learning progress and predict the performance of student cognitive mastery on the success of UKMPPD.
