PBL Scenario Training at the Faculty of Medicine, University A: Enriching Academic Learning Experience

Malang, August 15, 2023 – A training event focused on the development of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) scenarios has successfully taken place at Hotel Savana Malang on August 15, 2023. Initiated by the Study Program of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawijaya, this event represents a strategic step in enhancing the academic experience of students during the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024.

The event commenced with an opening speech by the Head of the Bachelor’s Program in Medicine, Dr. dr. Triwahju Astuti, M.Kes., Sp.P(K)., emphasizing the significance of PBL as a problem-oriented learning method within the context of medical science. In a brief interview following the speech, she explained that the implementation of PBL goes beyond a curricular approach, serving as an effort to cultivate analytical skills and critical thinking in students.

Training participants, including the PBL team and coordinators of the courses for the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, actively engaged in discussion sessions and workshops. The primary focus was on the application of constructivist learning theories and discussions on designing PBL scenarios that promote conceptual understanding, diagnostic skills, and problems solving abilities.

In the spirited academic atmosphere, coordinators of the courses for the first semester provided a deeper insight into the integration of PBL scenarios into their curriculum.
