The curriculum is a set of plans and arrangements regarding the objectives, content, and learning material, as well as the methods used to guide the implementation of Medical Education. The Competency Based Curriculum at FMUB is based on the “outcomes” approach using the organizing areas and competency components of SKDI in the design, implementation, and assessment and evaluation of FMUB Medical students. The characteristic of the CBC Medical Study Program at FMUB since 2014 is the application of the Integrated Longitudinal Curriculum model. This curriculum teaches a theme on an ongoing basis throughout education, with learning topics integrated in a learning block.
In the technical level of implementation, the curriculum used must be able to explain what learning objectives will be achieved at a particular educational stage or semester, what learning methods are chosen, and how their assessment. The Semester Learning Plan/Rencana pembelajaran Semester (RPS) is a document needed to explain how the curriculum is actually implemented. The RPS contains the formulation of learning objectives and subject matter contents, as well as the learning methods that will be used to achieve the expected competencies. RPS is needed so that the learning process becomes (1) directed, because it is well planned, (2) runs systematically, and (3) its achievements can be measured and evaluated, so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.
Since 2015, workshops for the preparation of the semester learning process, both in odd and even semesters, have been held as a routine agenda for the FKUB Undergraduate Medical Study Program. Activities undertaken include: (1) Evaluation of the implementation of all MKK last semester, (2) Preparation of RPS for all MKK, (3) compilation of subjects at each MKK, (4) preparation of learning schedules, (4) blueprint assessment for all MKK, and (5) PBL modules for each MKK. Workshop activities to prepare for the odd semester of the academic year 2019/2020 have been held for 2 days (Tuesday and Wednesday) 30-31 July 2019 at Ijen Suites Hotel Malang. This activity was held simultaneously with the preparation of academic guidelines by inviting all components that have a role in the learning process in the FMUB Undergraduate Medical Study Program. The enthusiasm of both the committee and workshop participants greatly contributed to the success of this event. Expected outcomes can also be achieved well as part of the Study Program’s effort to provide the best service for students.
