The Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawijaya, held a Workshop of Medical Study Program Assessment for Odd Semester of 2016/2017 Academic Year on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. This workshop was conducted as part of the Department’s goal of producing competent doctors according to Indonesian Doctor Competence Standard (SKDI) to serve the society.

41 lecturers participating in this Workshop were divided into four groups wherein each would assess the first, third, fifth, and seventh semester, as reported by The Chief Executive, dr. Agustin Iskandar, M.Kes, Sp.PK. She added that since 2007 The Medical Study Program has been using Competence-Based Curriculum (KBK) in which design, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of the students were based on Outcome approach with area organization and competence components from SKDI.

The Dean, Dr. dr. Sri Andarini, M.Kes, also stated in her opening speech the importance of the assessment for ensuring that the graduates are competent, compliant with the purpose of learning, and appropriate to the standards of Indonesian Medical Council (KKI). In conclusion, it is required for the Medical Study Program to have a valid, reliable, objective and feasible assessment in order to measure and evaluate the achievement of certain competences.
